What is a Meal Plan?
A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more, at #4 locations across campus. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes and Patriot Bucks, conveniently loaded onto your FMU ID card. No need to carry additional cards or cash!
Meal Swipes
Meal Swipes give you access to any of our all-you-care-to-eat @ Ervin Dining Hall.
Patriot Bucks
Patriot Bucks may be used at any Francis Marion Dining location. Visit our locations page for location information, including dining hall menus and hours of operation.Meal Plan Benefits
With your meal plan, you receive many benefits and perks, including:
- Quality food made fresh by our culinary team, with a variety of menu options personalized the way you like
- Healthy choices available all across campus
- Special events with themed meals and exclusive offers for meal plan members
- Casual atmosphere with wifi, TVs, & Music—perfect for studying or hanging out with friends.
To-go meals: simply request a to-go box when you swipe in at our dining hall and learn more about to-go meals! Dine in or take a meal to go, it’s your choice (one per meal period)!
Managing Your Plan
There are three ways you can check your Meal Swipes and Patriot Bucks balance:
1. Call the Cashier’s office at 843-661-1596
2. Ask for your balance at the cashier stand before any transaction

Key Dates
- Open Orientation and Registration begin Monday, August 21, 2023
- Fall Meal Plans begin on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Dinner. Ervin Dining Hall will be open from 5pm-7pm.
- Fall classes begin on Tuesday, August 22, 2023
- Fall Evening classes begin on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 4:30pm
